Krista Balsom will remain an RMWB councillor.
The Court of Queen’s Bench ruled in Balsom’s favour this afternoon, finding the councillor acted in good faith by seeking municipal legal advice prior to voting on key budget allocations.
Last June, a third-party investigation revealed Balsom breached the Municipal Governance Act (MGA). The courts agreed that advice was incorrect, therefore, Balsom will not be penalized.
In a statement on her Facebook page, Krista Balsom “looks forward to getting back to work with Council.”
Balsom will join her fellow councillors when they vote on the camp accommodations ban on Jan. 28.
