Oil Barons jersey auction returns for third year

If you bid to support the Northern Lights Health Foundation, you could get the shirt off the back of an Oil Barons player.

For the third year in a row, the Fort McMurray Oil Barons will wear special hockey jerseys which will then go to auction to support of the Northern Lights Health Foundation.

Partnering with Lance Bussieres of RE/MAX Fort McMurray, the MOB will dawn special sweaters that look like lab coats when they host the Whitecourt Wolverines on Feb. 1, and the Grande Prairie Storm on Feb. 2.

Oil Barons President David Fitzgerald calls the commemorative jersey auction the team’s way of “giving back to our community”.

“We’re excited to partner with Lance Bussieres and RE/MAX Fort McMurray once again to raise money for the health foundation and their many programs and services that support Wood Buffalo families.”

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have raised over $20,000 for the Northern Lights Health Foundation since 2017.

The team is now accepting bids for the jerseys until the end of the second intermission of their game with Grande Prairie on Feb. 2.

Bids can be placed by calling the Casman Centre box office at (780) 743-5509, Juanita Wood at (587) 646-2658, or Lance Bussieres at (780) 788-0815.

Tickets for both home games are available online.
