Mental health resources in the region will be getting a boost thanks to a $20,000 Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund grant to the Canadian Mental Heath Association (CMHA) Wood Buffalo.

“On behalf of all stakeholders and staff of CMHA Wood Buffalo, I would like to thank Bell Let’s Talk for supporting our efforts in suicide intervention with a Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund grant,” said CMHA Executive Director, Christine Savage, in a press release.

“This grant will allow us to increase our ability to provide mental health resources and asses the future needs of the community.”

The funding will be used by CMHA to train employees in Tattered Teddies/Straight TALK, and ASIST which focus on suicide prevention and will aid in the completion of critical incident stress training that addresses individuals in crisis, group crisis intervention, comprehensive crisis preparation and crisis in the workplace.
