Canada Post has asked that you keep the pathway and stairs to your home clear of snow and ice.
The weather conditions we’ve been experiencing have created icy surfaces that have the potential to be hazardous for those coming and going, whether it be for a delivery or just a visit.
Trevor Marks, our local area manager at Canada Post said that there have been two incidents so far this year where an employee has been injured from a fall.
“One of those incidents, the employee ended up not able to perform their regular duties for a week.”
He added that keeping a clear path avoids creating icy conditions after a thaw.
While workers are prepared for our weather conditions, keeping a clear path helps them do their job efficiency.
In the first two weeks of 2019, 100 Canada Post workers across the country have been injured from a fall during a delivery, some having broken or dislocated bones.
