ATLANTA — A woman who recorded her alleged sexual assault on a dance floor on Facebook Live is suing a popular Atlanta nightclub, claiming negligence.
A lawyer for Jasmine Eiland says he filed the lawsuit Monday against Opera Atlanta, as well as its owners, security companies and security personnel.
The suit filed in Fulton County State Court says the club failed to provide safety and security.
Eiland, who lives in Illinois, says she was sexually assaulted last month on the dance floor and then again in an off-limits area.
The Associated Press doesn’t generally identify alleged victims of sexual assaults, but Eiland is speaking out publicly.
A man was arrested last month and charged with aggravated sodomy in the alleged assault.
An Opera representative didn’t respond Tuesday to an email seeking comment.
