High hopes for Huskies hoops teams as playoffs near

Expect the Keyano Huskies to bring a little ‘March Madness’ to Fort McMurray.

The Keyano Huskies men’s basketball team rank in 13th place according to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association.

With a record of 15-7, they qualified for to the ACAC Men’s Basketball Championship at Lakeland College in Lloydminster, Alta.

Meanwhile, Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre will host the ACAC Women’s Basketball Championship next week from Feb. 28 to Mar. 2.

Although they qualify as hosts, the Keyano Huskies women’s squad currently sit tied for first place in the North division.
