The majority of lights have been repaired along Highway 63.
However, some primarily on Confederation Way, require a closer look underground.
Communications Advisor for Alberta Transportation, Wayne Wood, said flood damage last spring affected underground cables along the road.
“It’s kind of a complex problem in that one particular area because there was water damage to those cables underground, we’re going to have to call a specialized contractor on that one.”
Wood said there is a hard timetable in place, but hopes there will be results in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, contractors are considering stop-gap measures such as overhead lights while crews examine what can be done underground.
