The weather catcher outside Fort McMurray city hall may scratch heads and raise eyebrows, but it always mists.
During this week’s Council meeting, Mayor and council asked the Municipality to check how much it costs the city for ongoing maintenance.
Included in the motion is what it costs the city to dismantle it.
Councillor Mike Allen added for a “friendly” amendment inquiring about how much it would cost to “complete” certain parts of the weather catcher.
Council approved the motion, and asked the administration to consider other options.
“THAT Administration be directed to determine the cost necessary to dismantle the weather catcher and identify alternative options for that space and disclose the projected ongoing maintenance for the weather catcher.” #rmwb #ymm

This will certainly not be the last we hear about the weather catcher as Council will discuss its fate at a future date.
