Boeing ban won't directly affect Fort McMurray airport

There are no expected delays at the Fort McMurray international airport after Transport Minister Marc Garneau grounded all Boeing 737 Max 8 airplanes over safety concerns arising from the crash of an Ethiopian Airlines flight, killed all on board, including 18 Canadians.

RJ Steenstra, President and CEO of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority confirmed that those planes do not fly into or out of our airport however travelers may see disruptions with connecting flights.

“We’re encouraging passengers to check before they depart for the airport with their airlines.”
