Traffic stop leads to drug and weapons charges for two men

Two Fort McMurray men have been arrested after being stopped by the Wood Buffalo Integrated Traffic Unit (ITU).

Police stopped the vehicle on MacDonald Ave. on March 28th and found a stolen and loaded handgun, a bulletproof vest, brass knuckles, an extendable baton and a throwing knife.

Also in the vehicle was 21.7 grams of suspected cocaine, a digital scale, 3 cell phones and over $1,900.

Both Dylan Roy Boudreau, 33, and Ian James Fleming, 28, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, four counts of possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and one count related to the Body Armour Control Act.

Boudreau also faces a charge of possession of weapons contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization, while Fleming faces four additional charges of failing to comply with conditions of his release.

Both men are in custody and will appear in court on April 9.
