Executive Director of United Way announces June retirement

The Executive Director of the United Way Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo has decided to retire.

Cecilia Mutch will have served just under three years with the organization when she retires in June 2019.

President of the United Way, Steve Yatauro said in a release that Mutch played an important role in ensuring a great relationship with the Canadian Red Cross post-wildfire.

“Cecilia has led the United Way through a period of significant change in our community over the past three years. She has been instrumental in leading the organization to become more effective and innovative, strengthening our ability to create impact in the communities we serve.”

She also helped to create the partnership with FuseSocial and the Wood Buffalo Community Foundation, strengthening our region’s social profit sector.

After a successful career with leadership roles, Mutch started with the United Way in November 2016.

Mutch will work alongside her team to ensure a smooth transition.
