Court decided to postpone RCMP Constable Michelle Phillips arraignment to April 24, 2019.
Const. Phillips was not present for today’s hearing.
Const. Phillips pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
Background
Just after 1 a.m. on Aug. 21, 2016, Constable Michelle Phillips was responding to a report of a collision with a pedestrian along Hwy 881 south of Anzac.
The Crown alleges she struck the already injured pedestrian, 41-year-old Tracy Janvier, who succumbed to his injuries.
They also allege she injured the hand of another man, who stopped to aid Janvier at the scene, 74-year-old James Cardinal.
