UPDATE: Remains found in suspicious Conklin fire identified

Police continue to investigate a fire from April 8 that was deemed suspicious.

Dispatch called police to the scene of the burned down wreckage of a travel trailer in Conklin, where police found what they believed to be human remains.

An autopsy was done on April 11 at the Chief Medical Examiner’s office in Edmonton.

The autopsy identified the remains as being William George Tremblay, 54, of Conklin.

Major Crimes North, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and a Fire Investigator from the Wood Buffalo Regional Fire Department have been assisting in the investigation.
