Elections Alberta says that around 140,000 people cast a ballot on the first day of advance polls on Tuesday.

That’s already more than half the number of voters that marked a ballot early in the 2015 provincial election.

On day one of the advance polls then, around 58,000 voted.

Advance voting remains open until Sat. April 13.
