Housing market continues to stabilize

EDIT: Fort McMurray Realtors said the average sale price of single-family homes is down 4.98 per cent compared to last year’s figures, not 14 per cent.

Fort McMurray Realtors reports an increase in sales, maintaining the positive trend from February.

Although prices decreased five per cent, statistics from March show single-family home sales increased by two per cent.

Furthermore, the number of listings is similar to 2018.

However, the average sale price of single-family homes is down 4.98 per cent compared to last year.

These are signs of stability in our region’s housing market.

Also, the price of a duplex fell almost 55 per cent, but mobile with land prices continue to increase.

 

Looking at national numbers, the Canadian Real Estate Association says sales through the Multiple Listing Service dropped 4.6 per cent from March of 2018.

The average sale price fell 1.8 per cent on a year-over-year basis to $481,745.
