A Wood Buffalo RCMP Constable has been charged following a confrontation near Barrhead.

On Dec. 28, 2017 Const. Barnaby Seregelyi became involved in a driving dispute while off-duty and driving his own vehicle.

It’s alleged Seregelyi drove his vehicle dangerously, confronted the woman driving another vehicle, pointed a gun at her and confined her on the side of the road.

Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) investigated the incident.

On April 25, 2019 ASIRT Executive Director, Susan D. Hughson said Seregelyi should be charged with dangerous driving, assault with a weapon, unlawful confinement and pointing a firearm.

The matter is now before the courts and Selegelyi is scheduled to appear in Barrhead Provincial Court.
