Coaches of various sports from around Wood Buffalo are getting together for a weekend seminar.
Wood Buffalo Sport Connection (WBSC) is organizing a Coaches Round Table at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre this Saturday, May 4.
The round table’s goals are to identify the barriers coaches face consistent through our region’s many sports and disciplines.
Also, they want to identify Wood Buffalo’s strongest needs, develop a mentorship program for new coaches, and compile a database connecting athletes and parents with coaches.
Furthermore, the WBSC wants to lay the groundwork for at least two annual National Coaching Certification Program courses.
Keynote speaker this weekend is Dylan Elias of Northern Elite Football.
Although registration is free, the WBSC encourages all coaches to sign up online by May 1 at 12:00 p.m.
Stacs will provide a complimentary lunch.
Co-host for the event is the Alberta Sport Development Centre – Northeast, partnering with the Wood Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame.
