The Local Helicopter Emergency Response Organization (H.E.R.O.) Foundation is hosting a Mardi Gras in May fundraiser party.

Fundraising is crucial to the foundation to cover their operational costs, such as maintenance and fuel for their fleet of helicopters.

Paul Spring anticipates another great event, similar to Cinco De Mayo last year.

“We’re getting great donations this year. It’s more a casual, fun party atmosphere. We’ve got games [and] we’ve got lots of really great prizes, so you don’t have to be one of the big spenders in Fort McMurray to come out and support this organization.”

Mardi Gras also features live music, dancing, and a special Cajun-style dinner, brought to you by culinary staff at Mac Island.

“I’ve tasted the food menu already: It’s fantastic! The chefs down at Mac Island got a really authentic meal laid out for us, so we’re looking forward to a night of good music, great food, and a lot of fun.”

Mardi Gras takes place May 4, 2019, at the Shell Place Grand Ballroom.

Tickets are available on eventbrite.
