The investigation into the death of a man at Suncor’s Fort Hills facility continues.
Ledcor spokesman David Hoff said that one of its employees was killed yesterday afternoon in a single vehicle accident involving a pickup while doing maintenance at the site.
Hoff said both Ledcor and Suncor are conducting investigations into the incident, along with a government agency.
“We’re very much focused on people at this point, both in terms of the individual’s family and our other workers here are getting professional grief counselling and support.”
A spokesperson for Alberta Occupational Health and Safety says it was notified of the incident and personnel have been dispatched to the scene.
He says next of kin were notified by the RCMP yesterday.
