Waypoints hosts several events as part of Sexual Violence Awareness month

Waypoints is hosting several events through the month of May as a part of Sexual Violence Awareness month.

May 15th, join them at Jubilee Plaza for their free community barbecue.

The event will also have information about Waypoints and the services it provides.

Sexual Assault Public Educator Samantha Campbell said the barbecue is normally their kick-off event, but had to be rescheduled due to weather.

Waypoints the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services introduced the One Line service for sexual assault survivors earlier this month.

Upcoming events include a relax and restore yoga class which is sold out and First Responder to Sexual Assault and Abuse Training.

On May 29, there will be a screening of the documentary I Am Evidence at Keyano Theatre.

The group will also head to Fort Chipewyan on May 30 to do a presentation on sexual violence awareness as well as the relax and restore yoga class.
