Show 'N Shine highlights Public Works Week

Next week is Public Works Week across North America, and to celebrate the Municipality will host the annual Show ‘N Shine event.

Happening May 22, this family-friendly event features the region’s maintenance and emergency response team equipment.

Kids can even sit in the front seat of the vehicles that keep Wood Buffalo moving every day.

Visit the South Operations Centre at 140 Saprae Creek Trail between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Everything from buses to snow ploughs and fire trucks to recycling trucks will be on display.

Also, residents can watch live demonstrations and visit information booths to learn more about how public works connect communities.

While the event is free, Public Works asks residents to bring a non-perishable food item for donation.

Donations collected during the day will go inside a Transit Bus, which is part of the Stuff-A-Bus program.

The bus will deliver all donations to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank.
