Yard waste collection resumes next week

With winter officially behind us, the sounds of summer like lawnmowers and hedge trimmers approach.

Beginning May 28, crews will collect yard waste bags from the curbside of Fort McMurray’s residential streets.

Yard waste collection runs from then until the fall.

Residents in a rush to dispose of yard waste can also drop it off at the landfill.

The site is open year-round from 8:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Ground rules

Yard waste, such as clippings, leaves, weeds, twigs and sticks, and small plants go into brown paper bags.

Crews will not accept plastic or compostable bags.

Each household is allowed a maximum of four bags of yard waste per week or 35 lbs.

Place brown paper bags on the curbside next to regular collection bins on scheduled collection dates.

More information on yard waste is available on the Municipality’s website, or contact Pulse at (780) 743-7000.
