A dedication ceremony takes place at Snye Park next week honouring Victims and Survivors of Crime Week.
Local dignitaries will speak on May 31, 2019, at the dedication of a new park bench in Snye Park at 10:30 a.m.
The Municipality organized the public event along with the Department of Justice Canada.
Also, during the dedication will be an address from a survivor of crime.
The dedication serves as the highlight of Crime Week.
Crime Week is a national campaign raising awareness for issues facing victims and survivors of crime, and their families.
Furthermore, this year’s theme is “The Power of Collaboration” highlighting service providers.
RCMP Officer-in-Charge Lorna Dicks says residents wishing to volunteer with their Victims Services department can apply on the Municipality’s website.
