RRC unveils busy Canada Day schedule

This Canada Day weekend at MacDonald Island promises to one of the busiest on record!

The Regional Recreation Corporation unveiled its two-day event lineup loaded with fun for the whole family.

The fun begins on Sunday, June 30, when the Fort McMurray Giants host the Brooks Bombers for a holiday doubleheader at Shell Place.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., Country 93.3 and 97.9 Rock shine a light on the Community Music Showcase at SMS Equipment Stadium.

Local musicians DJ QPid, 40 Below, Tradmor, and Soul Speaker will provide toe-tapping, upbeat tunes.

Finally, Syncrude hosts a fantastic fireworks display at midnight.

July 1st, Canada Day is a day full of excitement and fun.

Headlining the day is the annual Canada Day Parade beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Next, Wood Buffalo residents will celebrate our country’s birthday at various events.

Finally, head to Shell Place for more family fun with more Giants baseball as they take on Brooks at 6 p.m.
