The world-renown and iconic symbol of RCMP pride and poise rides into Fort McMurray this summer.

This August, the RCMP Musical Ride Tour gallops into SMS Equipment Stadium for a pair of weekend shows.

Kelsey Stefanizyn, Director of Events and Business Development for the Regional Recreation Corporation (RRC), says it will be an amazing show of Canadian culture.

“We are honoured to welcome RCMP officers and their horses to MacDonald Island Park this summer as they transform SMS Equipment Stadium at Shell Place for an unforgettable show highlighting their heritage and history.”

Tickets for both all-ages shows go on sale Friday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at the Shell Place Box Office at $15 each with special four-packs available at $49.

Showtimes at SMS Equipment Stadium are Saturday, August 10, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, August 11, at 2 p.m.

Iconic Troop

The RCMP Musical Ride features 32 riders decked in their renown RCMP red dress uniforms, along with their horses.

Like a marching band, the full troop performs choreographed drills and figures along to popular music and ballads.

Therefore, rider and horse must show tremendous concentration and control when following their routines.

This family-friendly event gives the RCMP an opportunity to showcase those skills and the heritage and history of the RCMP.

Between May and October, Musical Ride performs in nearly 50 communities across Canada.

Also, the troop performed for audiences in the United States, Europe, and various places around the world.

Musical Ride’s home base is in Ottawa.
