The Fort McMurray SPCA (FMSPCA) had a very busy June 2019 hosting three fundraising events bringing in over $18,000 and raising awareness of the work the shelter does.

“We couldn’t be happier with the success of these events and the exposure they have brought to our cause.” Arianna Johnson Executive Director continues, “It is only with the attendance of people at these events that we are able to ensure all animals in our region get the care they need when they arrive at our doors. With every new and continuing event we build more knowledge and friends for our organization and we are so grateful for their support.”

The month kicked off with the third Annual Winky Day Celebration, which raised over $4,500.

The second annual Locked in a Kennel presented by Earls in partnership with Country 93.3 and Rock 97.9 raised over $11,000. The event helped educate the community on the cost of caring for the animals at the shelter as local celebrities were locked behind custom made kennel gates with the goal of raising money based on the cost of their animals stay in the shelter before they were able to be released.

The first annual Puttin’ Fore Paws Golf Tournament Presented by Ottlie Munro & Heather Gartner of Coldwell Banker Fort McMurray raised over $2,500 and had 108 golfers attend.
