Keyano College offers Early Learning Child Care Diploma again

The program has been identified as an ongoing need by community members and agencies as the demand for child card administrators and superiors remains high in the region.

Keyano College is reinstating its Early Learning Child Care Diploma this fall after it was suspended in 2015 due to low enrollment.

Currently the college offers an Early Learning Child Care Certificate program which prepares students for entry-level childcare working positions in our region.

The diploma program expands student’s skills and knowledge to further advance their careers.

It has been identified as an ongoing need by community members and agencies as the demand for child card administrators and superiors remains high in the region.

“We listened carefully, and from that Keyano College is responding to the community’s needs. As such, we are extremely excited to reoffer this program with a new delivery model that will provide a more flexible learning opportunity for students,” said Fred Russell, Vice President Academic.

With working child care employees in mind College administrators and faculty completely restructured the program after consulting with community stakeholders.

The new and improved program will be offered every seven weeks and will be delivered through evening, weekend, and online classes with full time and part time options to provide flexibility for students who are already working.

To be eligible for the program students must have an Early Learning Child Care Certificate, or can inquire at the Office of the Registrar about equivalencies or prior learning assessments.
