More drop-in engagement sessions have been scheduled to discuss downtown revitalization.

Adam Hardiman, spokesperson for the municipality said that more sessions were added to make sure everyone gets the opportunity to take part in the conversation.

“I think we’re hearing things that make sense and things that we’ve heard in the past. Definitely a variety of opinions, which isn’t surprising because downtown means different things to different people and so does revitalization.”

Hardiman said out of over 1000 interactions the consensus appears to be enhancing the waterfront.

People want to see the area developed while respecting our region’s history, environment and the Waterfront Steering Committee.

Overall, Hardiman said there have been many different opinions and ideas, but they’re all valuable.

Once the engagement sessions wrap up, those opinions and ideas will be reviewed and recommendations will be made.
