Construction on the new terminals uptown may take a little longer than expected.

However, the municipality prepared new routes and temporary detours to come into effect on August 30, 2019.

RMWB Communications Strategist, Dylan Corbett, said the detours will not affect bus times.

“Since construction of the new bus terminals will not be complete by this date, some temporary detours will be in place for routes north of the river that connect with the new terminals.”

Corbett also said the detours focus on the transit hubs at the Signal Road station in Thickwood, and Powder Drive station in Timberlea.

Information on the current and new schedules coming into effect on August 30 is available online.

Transit alerts also appear directly on the web page.

The new terminals at the Casman Centre and at Paquette Drive near Confederation Way should be complete into September.

Their construction was possible through federal and provincial funding.

School routes

The RMWB also unveiled special back-to-school routes.

Developed in partnership with the Public and Catholic school boards, the schedule lists the updates as ‘school specials’.

Composite High School, École McTavish, Father Mercredi High School, Holy Trinity High School, and Westwood High School will have special service.

The routes come into effect on August 30, 2019.
