With ongoing engagement sessions well underway, the municipality has put out two request for proposals (RFP).

The first request is for an updated redevelopment plan that will use information and feedback gathered during downtown revitalization engagement sessions.

The winning bidder will work with the municipality to replace the current 2012 City Centre Area Redevelopment Plan and other documents and contribute to the implementation plan.

The second request is for the Shell Place Feasibility Study, which council approved on March 26.

It will determine whether or not to turn Shell Place into an all-weather indoor stadium.

It will also have the winning bidder look into four alternatives for the facility and four different places where another could be located.

The study is expected to give a better understanding of the options and costs associated with the possible development of a new all-weather facility.

Back in March, council said the cost of the study would be $100,000.

The municipality said that the study will be used “to guide future decision making.”

Both RFP’s are open for proposals until Sept. 4.
