The Fort McMurray Catholic Board of Education voted in a new Board Chair and Vice Chair at its annual Organizational Meeting on Aug. 26.

Trustees Cathie Landmead and Anthony Hoffman were elected as Board Chair and Vice Chair, respectively.

Langmead said one of the board’s priorities for this school year is to roll out the new strategic plan for the next three years.

She added another priority is to continue to advocate effectively for the children they serve.

“I am most looking forward to continuing our conversations with students, parents, teachers, administration, community partners and various stakeholders. We want to ensure that we, as a Board, are serving each and every student in Fort McMurray Catholic Schools family to the very best of our ability.”

Superintendent George McGuigan said he’s “pleased to be working with a great team.”
