Vision surveys for hospital lobby renovation complete

The future look of the Suncor Heart of Health Lobby is a little clearer.

The Northern Lights Health Foundation (NLHF) announced the completion of Lobby Visioning workshops.

Held in June and July, hospital staff, patients, and community members shared their thoughts and ideas on renovating the lobby.

Participants shared their thoughts on the new lobby’s function, structure, and aesthetics.

Lobby renovation

The NLHF collected 616 data points through individual and group consultation.

They confirmed the Suncor Heart of Health Lobby serves as a meeting place, a place of reading and reflection, and an information source.

Also, the lobby also houses a marketplace, and people gather for activities and family meet-ups outside of a hospital room setting.

Researchers provided some recommendations for the lobby renovation.

They suggested an all-hours cafe and kids play zone in a modern, open-concept area with comfortable seating and sectional dividers.

Alberta Health Services management will review the responses, and consult with project management.
