Pancake breakfast to honour emergency services and personnel

Fire Hall 1 is the site for the annual Emergency Services Pancake Breakfast.

Organized by Regional Emergency Services, the free family event honours the region’s many services and representatives.

Fire Chief Jody Butz said residents may also drop by the fire hall to see how RES providers operate.

“The Annual Emergency Services Pancake Breakfast is a free event organized by Regional Emergency Services as a thank you to the community for their continued support in making Wood Buffalo a safe and resilient place to live.”

Butz also said it’s a chance to celebrate working together for a safer region.

Meet representatives from the Fort McMurray Fire Department (FMFD), and RES dispatchers, emergency management, Fire Prevention branch and Firefit team.

Also participating are Bylaw Services, the RCMP, Phoenix Heli-Flight and Local HERO Foundation, FireSmart, Fort McMurray Search and Rescue Society, the Salvation Army, and Alberta Agriculture and Forestry.

There will be a host of activities, demonstrations, and tours of emergency vehicles and trailers.

Moreover, there are activities for the kids including face-painting, services mascots, an obstacle course, and a teddy bear clinic.

Drop by the fire hall on September 7, 2019, between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m

The location of Fire Hall 1 is just off Highway 63 at 2 Tolen Drive.
