Resisting arrest

Police located a stolen vehicle at approximately 3:00 p.m. on August 22 on a rural trail near Conklin.

They found Tremblay inside the vehicle and arrested him on outstanding warrants.

However, Mark Tremblay resisted, so police deployed a conducted energy weapon (CEW).

Resulting from the use of the CEW, Tremblay sustained non-life threatening injuries.

From there, police took Tremblay into custody without any further incident.

Tremblay received treatment at the hospital before returning to police custody.

Mark Tremblay faces charges of possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and three counts of assaulting a Peace officer.

Wood Buffalo RCMP also charged him with possession of a controlled substance, and six counts of failure to comply.

Furthermore, Tremblay’s outstanding warrants include possession of a prohibited firearm, ammunition, and prohibited possession and careless transportation of a prohibited firearm.

Mark Tremblay is due in Provincial Court on September 9, 2019.
