Investigation into Anzac theft leads to arrest

On Sept. 1, 2019, at 5:30 a.m., police responded to a break-in at an Anzac-area business.

Wood Buffalo RCMP conducted an investigation and found 52-year-old Garth Savoy.

Police found him with a significant amount of property, which they suspected he stole.

Once they charged Savoy, police executed a search warrant on his vehicle, which contained between $10,000-$15,000 worth of tools, equipment and electronics.

Later released, Savoy faces one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

He is due in Provincial Court on Sept. 18, 2019.
