A single-vehicle collision on Gravelstone Road claimed one life and injured two others.
On Sept. 8, 2019, at 2:30 a.m. Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to the scene of the accident.
The vehicle carrying three occupants veered off the road, collided with a residence, and ruptured a gas line.
Authorities evacuated several neighbouring residences until crews could make the necessary repairs.
RCMP pronounced one passenger, a 17-year-old male from Athabasca, dead at the scene.
Emergency crews transported the 22-year-old male driver to a hospital in Edmonton with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, EMS transported the other passenger, a 21-year-old man suffered serious injuries, to hospital.
An investigation with an RCMP Collision Analyst is ongoing.
