Fort McMurray has been announced as one of the 25 stops for the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour.

This marks the second time the tour has stopped in our region, the first being November 2014.

Canada’s ultimate fan experience, presented by Scotiabank and Hyundai, includes live entertainment, NHL alumni, games and giveaways.

Mayor Don Scott said in a statement that the municipality is excited to welcome the tour.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our communities and spirit while offering residents a weekend of unforgettable experiences and festivities.”

The event runs Nov. 23 & 24 at MacDonald Island Park, with the outdoor viewing party on Nov. 24.

We’ll be watching the Edmonton Oilers take on the Arizona Coyotes, while Sportsnet’s Ron MacLean and Tara Slone host live from our region.
