RCMP puts the brakes on drug trafficking

Wood Buffalo RCMP arrested a 31-year-old man from Calgary suspected of drug trafficking in early September.

The special Drug Section conducted their investigation at a traffic stop in Fort McMurray.

Drug seizure

On Sept. 10, RCMP searched a vehicle driven by the male suspect.

Upon arresting the driver, they seized 21 grams of suspected cocaine and more than $835.

Police arrested and charged 31-year-old Godfrey Mills of Calgary, Alta., with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Mills also faces an additional charge of proceeds of crime under $5000.

Although releasing Mills on bail, RCMP expects him to appear in Provincial Court on Oct. 22, 2019.
