Partnering with Waypoints, the Athabasca Tribal Council, McMurray Métis and Alberta Health Services, the march begins at the Centre of Hope on McLeod St.

Also commonly known as the Red Dress March, attendees will meet for stew and bannock.

Shortly afterwards, they will march along Franklin Avenue to Jubilee Plaza in solidarity with the Native Women’s Association of Canada.

The annual march highlights the plight of Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women.

Once at Jubilee Plaza, attendees will hear speeches from special guests and hold a moment of silence to honour six missing Indigenous women from our community.
