Fort McMurray Public School Division (FMPSD) Superintendent Doug Nicholls is a free man.

The ‘Jail ‘N Bail’ campaign, in support of the United Way Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo, raised $1500.

The funds surpassed their goal of $1000.

Thankful for the support, Nicholls says some donated to keep him in jail.

“I think there [was] more interest in that than actually bailing me out.”

FMPSD and Wood Buffalo RCMP charged Nicholls abandonment as he’ll be retiring in the new year.
