A 24-year-old man from Fort Chipewyan is under arrest following a search and seizure in Fort Chipewyan RCMP.
RCMP along with Dog Services recovered a firearm and arrested the man without incident.
On Oct. 24, 2019, Fort Chipewyan RCMP responded to a call to a residence in the Allison Bay area of the rural hamlet.
However, the nature of the call prompted police to set up a containment area before conducting a search.
After the search, RCMP arrested and charged the 24-year-old male suspect with unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and careless use of a firearm.
He also faces another charge of failure to comply with conditions.
Fort Chipewyan RCMP released the man on recognizance and instructed him to appear in court on Dec. 5, 2019.
