Symmetree Theatre debuts with a new theatrical production at the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts.

Freeing Heaven’s Secrets runs for two nights on Nov. 1-2.

Luay Eljamal, theatre company founder, and the play’s writer and director says this production will provide a fully immersive experience.

“We will be immersing our audience in a sonic world made up of over 250 sound cues during the hour-long production. It will be like watching your favourite film in surround sound, but with live performers in a theatrical setting.”

Freeing Heaven’s Secrets is about a young blind girl called Scheherazade, who is on her deathbed.

She promises her father, when she dies, to communicate with him telepathically from the afterlife and tell him about her journey.

Eljamal said Scheherazade’s blindness would pass onto the audience, who would then experience heaven through the element of sound.

“We are very excited and incredibly proud to present this production for the first time in the community of Wood Buffalo.”

Single tickets are available on the Symmetree website and cost $20.
