7 bodies reported found in 3 vehicles in western Mexico

MEXICO CITY — Authorities in the western Mexico state of Jalisco say the bodies of seven men have been found in three vehicles.

The Jalisco state prosecutor’s office says the vehicles and bodies were found on a piece of land in the municipality of Tonala, a suburb of Guadalajara.

Authorities say in a statement Wednesday that three bodies were in one vehicle and two each in the other two vehicles. Investigators found shell casings and blood stains at the parcel near the Ocotillo reservoir.

The Jalisco New Generation cartel is the dominant criminal group in the area.
