UPDATE: New bus terminals to open, fares to increase

The new Timberlea bus terminal will open on Dec. 20.

Located on Confederation Way at the corner of Paquette Dr., the terminal will resume regular routing once it’s operational.

Routes using the Powder Dr. station as a transfer point will also resume regular routing.

The following routes will be affected:

  • Route 9 (Cartier Heights / Brett Drive)
  • Route 12 (Thickwood/Timberlea)
  • Route 15 (Timberlea)
  • Route 17 (Parsons Creek / Morgan Heights)
  • Route 41 (Stone Creek / Eagle Ridge)

 

The opening of the new Thickwood terminal on Thickwood Blvd. will open Dec. 27, 2019.

Located in front of the Casman Centre, transit routes with detours in the area shall resume regular routes from the new terminal.

Transit routes using Thickwood station, also known as Stop 5081, as a transfer point will use the Thickwood Terminal or Stop 102.

This will affect the following routes:

  • Route 12 (Thickwood/Timberlea)
  • Route 16 (Thickwood)
  • Route 51 (Wood Buffalo)
  • Route 61 (Thickwood)

 

Transit route 12 shall maintain its service at Thickwood station as part of its regular route.

Also, starting Jan. 1, the cost to ride the bus in Fort McMurray will increase from $1.25 to $1.50.

Rural transit fares will remain the same.
