Chatelaine Magazine has named the Syncrude Aquatic Centre at MacDonald Island Park one of the top 12 indoor pools in Canada.
The centre is home to a 54 meter Olympic sized swimming pool, a warm water leisure pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpools, family water park, spray park, water slides, a lazy river and more.
Greg Walsh, CEO of the Regional Recreation Corporation says its very exciting
“The pool at MacDonald Island is one of the key features that draws people in from all over the region. It’s definitely an amenity that sets us apart from most rec centres and certainly unique based on the size and the number of amenity people can use.”
Walsh says the centre is highly utilizes seeing over 350,000 visits annually.
