RMWB Council will hold its first meeting of the new year at the Syncrude Athletic Clubhouse on Jan. 14, 2020.
However, the broadcast from the temporary site will not be available.
In a statement, the Municipality said due to technical issues the broadcast will not be available online or on television.
Fort Chipewyan housing
Mayor and Councillors shall meet to discuss housing in the hamlet of Fort Chipewyan.
The administration would request they vote to add cluster housing to the hamlet’s Area Structure Plan (ASP).
Adopted in May 2018, the ASP lists various housing choices to help meet the need for affordable housing in Fort Chipewyan.
The list, which includes townhomes, apartments, triplex and four-plex, does not have cluster housing.
Cluster housing is a development with homes grouped together alongside common, open areas separating nearby land uses.
Examples of this may be found in Eagle Ridge.
Similar ASPs in Anzac, Conklin, Janvier, and Fort McKay support cluster housing.
The administration found the Hamlet Residential District requires alignment with the other towns.
According to public feedback, they said all the hamlets would benefit should RMWB Council vote to include cluster housing in the Hamlet Residential District.
RMWB Council will also vote on the Conversion Therapy bylaw.
The administration shall present its draft for second and third reading.
If passed, the bylaw would ban the licensing, practice, and promotion of conversion therapy within Wood Buffalo.
The penalty for doing so would also levy a $10,000 fine.
