Bell Let's Talk Day applauds CMHA Wood Buffalo

The Canadian Mental Health Association Wood Buffalo (CMHA WB) is one of eight organizations recognized by Bell Let’s Talk Day.

CMHA provides frontline access to mental health services across Canada, in particular in Wood Buffalo with the Recovery College.

The theme for the 2020 campaign is Mental Health: Every Action Counts.

Bell Let’s Talk Chair Mary Deacon hopes Fort McMurray will join the discussion creating positive change for Canadians living with mental illness.

“This year, the approach has been to spotlight not-for-profit organizations playing an important role in filling service gaps, especially organizations that focus on young people, typically the demographic that struggles the most with its mental health issues.”

CMHA WB will partner with Fort McMurray Public School Division and Keyano College highlighting mental health topics for young people.

On Jan. 29, the non-profit organization will share stories, lived experiences, and messages of hope on social media.

The FMPSD will also spotlight children’s mental health services.

Meanwhile, Keyano College will host the “Movies for Mental Health” open house at Keyano Theatre.

Follow the conversation with the hashtags #BellLetsTalk and #CMHAWB on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Bell donates five cents to Canadian mental health programs for each online interaction.
