Changes will be made at one of Wood Buffalo’s popular family centres.

With Parent Link Centres cancelled, The Hub Family Resource Centre said they will look for alternate funding.

The Hub intends to maintain Drop-in Play, Family Support and Early Learning programs, and Safe Visitation and Exchange.

Executive Director Samantha Simpson said they would still pursue other options in the face of economic uncertainty.

“We kindly ask for your patience during this difficult transition as we work to identify what our new programming model will look like moving forward. We hope to be able to answer all of our clients’ questions in the coming weeks.”

Simpson said The Hub thanks individuals and organizations in the region for their continued support.

The Hub receives some funding from United Way Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo, the RMWB, Suncor Energy, and The Wood Buffalo Community Foundation.

Started in 2003, The Hub Family Resource Centre provides social support services for children and families in Wood Buffalo.

Programs and services are available out of their location in Timberlea.
