Annual fundraiser for Local HERO postponed
Organizers announced they would postpone another fundraising event in Wood Buffalo.
The Local HERO Foundation said they would reschedule its ‘Big Island Luau’ on May 2, 2020, to a later date.
This followed the recommendation of Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, Dr Deena Hinshaw, over COVID-19 or coronavirus concerns.

HERO, or Helicopter Emergency Response Organization, said they thank sponsors, contributors, ticket buyers, and residents for their support.

The Foundation provides 24/7 helicopter medevac services for Wood Buffalo and northeastern Alberta.
