Arrests made following two weekend robberies

Wood Buffalo RCMP arrested a total of four people following a pair of unconnected robberies.

Police responded to an armed robbery on Thickwood Boulevard at 7:45 p.m. on March 14, 2020, and arrested three men.

23-year-old Zakariya Abdullahi and 22-year-olds Bilal Ahmed and Salah Tahlil are all from Fort McMurray.

Linked to two other recent robberies, Abdullahi faces three counts each of armed robbery and disguise with intent to commit robbery, and one count of resisting a peace officer.

Police also charged Ahmed, who also is linked with two recent robberies, with one count of armed robbery and three counts of disguise with intent to commit robbery.

RCMP charged Tahlil with armed robbery and disguise with intent to commit robbery.

Wood Buffalo RCMP was busy on March 15, 2020, arresting a 26-year-old woman at 3:30 p.m.

The incident occurred near Morrison Street and Franklin Avenue, where police responded to an armed robbery and arrested the woman.

Police charged her with armed robbery and theft of a car.
